STAGELANE — PRIVACY POLICY

Effective date: August 11, 2026 · Version: 2.1

Stagelane LLC ("Stagelane," "we") operates a marketplace connecting Clients planning private events with independent Talent. This Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

2. What we collect, in detail

All users: name, email address, phone number, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash — never in readable form), profile photo, language preference, IP address, device and browser information, and records of your activity on the Platform. We also record your acceptance of our Terms and this Policy — the date, time, and version accepted — your phone verification status, and separate records of your consent to transactional and to marketing messages, each with the date and time given.

Clients: event address, event date and details, booking history, and ratings and reviews you give and receive. Payment card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by Stagelane. We never see or store your full card number.

Talent: service categories, rates, availability, service area, equipment details, biography, social media links, short video or audio clips, portfolio images, and — for certain categories — professional license or certification documents. Payout and bank details are collected directly by Stripe.

Identity verification: you submit your government-issued ID and a selfie directly to our verification provider. Stagelane never receives, sees, or stores your identity documents or selfie — we receive only a pass/fail result, a status, and a timestamp.

Sensitive personal information. Some of the above may be considered sensitive under California law (for example, government identifier data handled by our verification provider, and precise geolocation at event check-in). We use it only to provide the service you requested and to prevent fraud — never to infer characteristics about you, and never for advertising.

3. Where the information comes from

Directly from you; automatically from your device as you use the Platform; from our verification provider (result only); and from public state licensing databases, where you list a licensed service category.

4. Why we use it

To create and operate your account; to match Clients with Talent and process Bookings; to instruct our payment provider; to verify identity and, where a category requires it, to verify a professional license against a public database; to send transactional messages about your account and Bookings; to display genuine ratings and reviews; to prevent fraud, abuse, and off-platform circumvention; to provide support and resolve disputes; and to comply with legal obligations.

5. Who we share it with

With the other party to a Booking. Before a Booking is confirmed, Talent see only your general area — never your exact address. Your exact event address and contact details are shared with a Talent only once that Booking is confirmed and identity verification requirements are met, and only to the extent needed to perform that Booking.

With service providers who process data on our behalf, each bound by a written agreement limiting use of your data to providing that service:

  • Payment processing — holds and disburses all funds, and collects payment and payout details directly.
  • Identity verification — receives and processes your ID and selfie; returns only a result to us.
  • Hosting and database — stores your account data, photos, clips, and portfolio.
  • Address autocomplete and geocoding — receives addresses you enter for matching and mapping.
  • SMS message delivery — receives your name and phone number in order to deliver transactional text messages.
  • Email message delivery — receives your name and email address in order to deliver transactional emails.

For legal reasons: where required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or Stagelane. In a business transfer: if Stagelane is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will notify you.

6. How long we keep it

DataRetention
Account dataWhile your account is active, then up to 12 months
Booking and payment records7 years, for tax and dispute purposes
Messages tied to a Booking2 years after the event, as dispute evidence
Identity verification result (not documents)While your account is active
Acceptance records (Terms/Policy version)7 years after account closure
Server and security logs12 months

We may retain information longer where a legal obligation, investigation, or open dispute requires it.

7. Security

Encryption in transit; access restricted to personnel who need it; payment details and identity documents handled by specialized third-party providers rather than stored by us; passwords stored only as hashes.

Breach notification. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you within 30 days of determining that a breach occurred, as Florida law requires. Where a breach affects 500 or more Florida residents, we will also notify the Florida Department of Legal Affairs within 30 days.

8. Your rights

All users may access, correct, or delete account information from account settings, or by writing to hi@stagelane.com. Some information must be retained where we have a legal obligation or an open dispute.

California residents. You have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; delete it; correct it; obtain a portable copy; limit the use of sensitive personal information; and opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and post a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link before doing so.

How to exercise your rights: write to hi@stagelane.com. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days, with notice). You may use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights — no denial of service, different pricing, or different quality.

9. Communications

We send transactional messages about your account and Bookings — requests and invitations, confirmations, reminders, verification codes, license outcomes, and support — by SMS and email. These are service messages, not marketing.

We verify your phone number at registration by sending you a one-time code. This confirms the number is yours and is how you consent to receive transactional messages at it.

We do not send marketing messages unless you separately opt in. Reply STOP to any SMS to opt out of non-essential messages, or use your account settings. Reply HELP to any SMS for assistance, or contact us at hi@stagelane.com. Message frequency varies based on your activity on the Platform. Opting out of transactional messages may prevent us from delivering time-sensitive Booking information. Message and data rates may apply.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

10. Your content and copyright

Content you upload (photos, clips, portfolios) is stored by us and displayed on the Platform. You are responsible for holding the rights to anything you upload. To report infringing content, see the DMCA section of our Terms of Service. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

11. Age

The Platform is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact hi@stagelane.com.

12. Cookies

Essential cookies keep you logged in and secure; functional cookies remember your preferences; basic analytics help us understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent the Platform from working.

13. Users outside the United States

The Platform is operated from the United States and intended for users in our service areas. If you access it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

14. Changes to this Policy

We will post material changes before they take effect and update the effective date above. Where required, we will ask you to accept the updated version.
